About Chuys
We're more than a restaurant — we're a community built around bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and the joy of sharing an unforgettable meal with the people you love.
Est. 1982 — Fort Worth, TX
Born from a Passion for Authentic Flavor
Chuys started as a single family-owned restaurant with one simple idea: serve honest, scratch-made food in a place that feels like home. Since our doors first opened on River Oaks Blvd in Fort Worth, Texas, we've been dedicated to preserving the soul of authentic chuy's recipes passed down through generations.
Every dish that leaves our kitchen is crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our team of passionate chefs and front-of-house staff share the same commitment — to make every guest feel welcome, every meal feel special, and every visit feel worth returning for.
Our Core Values
The principles that guide every decision we make — from sourcing ingredients to serving our community.
Fresh Quality
We source local, seasonal ingredients and prepare everything from scratch daily. No shortcuts, no compromises.
Community First
We invest in Fort Worth — partnering with local farms, sponsoring neighborhood events, and hiring from within our community.
Culinary Integrity
Authentic chuy's recipes are our foundation. We respect tradition while embracing creativity in every dish we craft.
Warm Hospitality
Every guest deserves to feel at home. We train our team to deliver genuine warmth in every interaction.
A History of Bold Flavor
From a modest kitchen on River Oaks Blvd to one of Fort Worth's most beloved dining destinations — here's how we got here.
The First Kitchen Opens
Founders Mike and Rosa Chuy open a small 30-seat restaurant on River Oaks Blvd, serving homemade Tex-Mex recipes passed down from Rosa's grandmother in San Antonio.
A Neighborhood Institution
After earning loyal regulars and a glowing review in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Chuys expands its dining room and adds a full bar, doubling capacity to serve the growing demand.
Catering Takes Off
Chuys launches a dedicated catering arm following years of requests from corporate clients and families hosting events. The catering menu quickly becomes a staple at Fort Worth gatherings.
30 Years — Full Renovation
To mark three decades, the restaurant undergoes a full redesign. The new space honors the original character with a modern, open layout while maintaining the warmth guests have always loved.
Online Ordering Launches
Chuys embraces the digital age with a new website and online ordering platform, making it easier than ever for guests across Fort Worth to enjoy their favorite dishes at home.
Serving the Next Generation
Now led by the second generation of the Chuy family, Chuys continues to evolve — expanding the menu, deepening community ties, and welcoming a new generation of loyal guests every day.
